Monica Benear SLP

Monica Benear is a speech-language pathologist who is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. She graduated with her masters degree in 2003. She initially practiced at The Children’s Center in Bethany for 4 years. Since then she has been in private practice treating children and adults. She took her first orofacial myofunctional training in 2015 through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). She attended a second course through the IAOM in 2017. She attends the annual convention for orofacial myology through the IAOM and follows current research. She graduated from the Myomasterminds program offered through The Breathe Institute in March of 2022. Monica has a passion for treating individuals with tempomandibular jaw pain referred to as tempomandibular dysfunction (TMD). Monica currently treats children and adults with myofunctional needs.

Janean Wright SLP

Janean Wright graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health and Sciences Center with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 1997. She has enjoyed her work experience assisting clients mostly in skilled nursing facilities, home health settings, and within private practice working with both adults and children. Her interest in orofacial myofunctional therapy began due to family experiences and she completed her initial studies through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) in January of 2021. The community and collaborative nature of OMF practitioners in this field immediately energized her interest in learning more and she completed a second course of study through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) in July of 2021. Her deep desire is to help children and adults who are affected by orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). Janean has a growing interest in how OMDs impact sleep.

Katie Brooke SLP

Katie Brooke graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2009. She has spent her professional career working in private practice, gaining experience with a wide variety of speech and language disorders and developmental disabilities. Katie has had extensive training and experience in Childhood Apraxia of Speech and is trained in the DTTC and ReST treatment methods. She also has expertise in the area of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessment and implementation. Katie has recently completed her training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) and is pursuing her Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) certification. Katie is passionate about building relationships with her clients and families and individualizing treatment to help them reach their full potential.

Lyndee Stovall SLP

Lyndee Stovall graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2016 with a Master’s in
Speech-Language Pathology. Lyndee began working in the private sector after graduation,
specializing in work with neurodivergent children. She then moved into the public schools,
working with children between the ages of 3-11 as well as doing part-time work with adults in
skilled-nursing facilities. Lyndee became interested in the field of orofacial myofunctional
therapy after being referred to Monica Benear by her TMJ specialist for her severe TMD
(temporomandibular disorder). This sparked a passion in Lyndee to learn more about the
role our tongue plays in our sleep, posture, eating, and breathing. In January of 2021, Lyndee
completed training in orofacial-myofunctional therapy through IAOM. Lyndee has been
practicing with Monica Benear since February of 2021.

Christina Cid SLP

Christina Cid graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 1997. Her professional career has primarily been in medical settings which includes acute care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation centers and outpatient rehabilitation clinics. She has experience with the full spectrum of neurological impairments and diseases, with specialization in Parkinson’s Disease. She completed her orofacial myofunctional training in 2021 through the International Association of Orofacial Myology ( IAOM ). Her interest in temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) led her to complete further education in TMD and Orofacial Pain with Timothy King, a world leading Myotherapist who uses Functional Neuromyofascial techniques. She attends the annual convention for orofacial myology through the IAOM and continues to learn best practices.
Her desire is to improve the quality of life for clients who are affected by orofacial myofunctional disorders ( OMDs ) and to meet the unique needs of clients by providing individualized care.
